Short answer Flock Block does not block a Flock Safety license plate camera from photographing or reading a plate. Flock cameras use optical imaging. What Flock Block is designed to do

Phones and connected accessories announce themselves throughout the day. Modern operating systems randomize some identifiers and limit certain background behavior, but the surrounding radio environment still contains many repeatable signals. Passive scanners can use timing, signal strength, advertised services, and the combination of devices present to build probabilistic patterns.

Flock Block takes a crowd approach. When active, it adds a continuous set of decoy Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi broadcasts around the real devices you carry. The goal is not to make a phone disappear. It is to increase ambiguity: more apparent devices, more churn, and a less tidy log.

The device is also designed to recognize compatible nearby scanner or collection-device signatures and alert the user when such equipment may be present. Detection is necessarily probabilistic. Wireless equipment can change identifiers, remain radio-silent, use unfamiliar hardware, or collect through methods a detector cannot see.

Accurate claim Flock Block adds wireless noise to reduce the usefulness of passive Bluetooth and Wi-Fi observation. It does not make you anonymous, erase your real devices, or guarantee that every scanner is detected.

  4. Physical layer: recognize that cameras, access-control systems, and payment records create separate observations.
  5. Policy layer: ask for warrants, strict permitted uses, short retention, independent audits, and public reporting for government surveillance systems.
